Your Instructor
John Bernet is a Mechanical Application and Product Specialist at Fluke Corporation. Using his 30-plus years of experience in maintenance and operation of nuclear power plants and machinery in commercial plants,
John has worked with customers in all industries imple- menting reliability programs. He is a Certified Category II Vibration Analyst and a Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional (CMRP), with over 20 years of experience diagnosing machine faults.
John served in the U.S. Navy as an electrician for 12 years where he operated and maintained nuclear power plants. John supervised the corrective and preventive maintenance of the machinery in the engine rooms of cruisers and aircraft carriers, and also managed the training of personnel as the Navy moved from calendar based PMs to a world class condition based maintenance program. During his last 3 years on the USS Nimitz, he became experienced in vibration data collection methodologies and automated machine fault diagnostics similar to what is used in the Fluke 810 Vibration Tester.
John's technical experience grew as he worked at Azima DLI for the next 18 years where he developed reliability programs on many ships and for various commercial customers in industries around the world. He has trained hundreds of technicians and sales personnel over the years.
Now at Fluke Corporation, John develops training programs and technical articles, supports sales teams around the world with remote web presentations and on-site regional training sessions, and conducts seminars at trade shows. He has had several papers published in various industry trade magazines and is passionate about making the benefits of proactive vibration measurement available to people, teams, and organizations all over the world.
